Earlier today (August 14), Universal Music announced that music super-producer Timbaland has canceled his Shock Value Australian tour.
The tour was originally scheduled for July 2008, with the dates then being pushed back to August. Since the initial date change speculation has run rampant as to the status of Timbo's down under tour as the new dates for the Australian tour actually clashed with a scheduled tour of Europe.
The producer, born Tim Mosley, apparently had a show booked in Poland the same day he was supposed to be playing in Melbourne.
Australia-based singer Nessa Morgan (a.k.a. Neska) was announced as a support act for Timbaland's Aussie tour last week, causing punters to believe that the tour would still take place.
Although no official statement has been released, Universal Music Australia have apparently confirmed that the tour will not be going ahead. Timbaland himself has said in a recent statement that he is "sorry" and is "looking forward to coming to Australia in the near future."
Timbaland's Shock Value Australian tour was set to kick off in Sydney tomorrow night (August 15). Ticketek have advised ticket holders that they will be entitled to a full refund of their ticket price, asking punters to allow for 14 days for the refund to be processed.
In related news, rising Hip Hop star Flo-Rida, who was originally set to join Timbaland on his Australian tour, is embarking on a solo tour of Australia.
Flo-Rida's Mail On Sunday Australian tour will be taking in dates in Melbourne and Sydney, with tickets available now through Ticketek.
