SOUL NEWS: D'Angelo To Make a Return

D'Angelo is finally ready to make a comeback. His last album was Voodoo, back in 2000. Now, after J Records purchased his contract from Virgin in 2005, according to Billboard.com, he's back at work on his next release.

So far the singer has worked with Raphael Saadiq on his as-yet-untitled J debut, but is also planning to get into the studio with John Mayer.

The label plans to drop a single for the release by the end of the year.

Since his 2000 album, which was certified platinum, D'Angelo has made made a handful of guest appearances on albums by Common, Snoop Dogg and J Dilla but other than that has completely disappeared from the music scene.
