
R&B News: Chauncey Black Signs With Flipmode

Chauncey Black, formerly of successful R&B group Blackstreet, has signed to Flipmode Entertainment, the Interscope-backed label run by Busta Rhymes.
The singer has stated that his new union with Rhymes came about when he met the rapper/mogul at a recording studio in Virginia Beach. Impressed with Busta's energy and enthusiasm he approached him about a possible deal and expressed his desire to take his solo career to the next level. Cementing the deal, Chauncey has reportdely gotten a Flipmode tattoo.
Church Boy will be the solo debut of Chauncey Black and his first Flipmode/Interscope project. The album's lead single, titled Every Day Is Your Birthday, is produced by longtime collaborator Teddy Riley.
The upcoming album, which Black describes as "hard, soulful street music" will also feature collaborations with R&B crooner Ne-Yo, The Game, fellow Interscope artist Dr. Dre and of course, Busta Rhymes.
Church Boy is set to be released through Flipmode Entertainment/Interscope Records later in 2008.
