
R&B NEWS: Akon Pleads Not Guilty To Fan Incident

R&B superstar Akon has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor criminal charges stemming from an incident this past June when he threw a teenage boy off the stage during a performance in New York.
After the teenager threw a water bottle at Akon while he was performing on stage, the self-proclaimed Hip Hop singer requsted that the fans point out who the culprit was. Once he was indentified the boy was sent on stage by security, Akon then proceeded to pick the boy up and hoist him on his shoulders, then propelling the boy back into the crowd.
Once the boy was thrown off the stage he landed on a minor named Abby Rosa, who suffered a concussion.
This incident is not the first time that the star has come under fire for his on-stage antics. This past April, Akon was acused of simulating rape after footage of a concert in Trinidad surfaced on the internet. The video showed the singer having simulated sex on stage with a female fan, who was later revealed to be a 14-year-old girl, who had snuck into the club despite being under-age.
