NEWS: The Game Charged in Brawl :: Suge Knight Arrested

Fresh off celebrating the release of his anticipated LAX album, which included a star-studded event at the Fillmore club in New York on Tuesday night, Compton rapper The Game has reportedly been charged with criminal battery for allegedly punching his cousin during a family funeral last month.

The music star, born Jayceon Taylor, has been officially charged with battery by the Hawthorne City Attorney, According to TMZ. His cousin, Robert 'Kirky' Kirkwood, filed a police report days after the alleged incident ocurred at the funeral of Game's cousin and Kirkwood's sister.

Kirkwood has told TMZ that the altercation was reportedly over money, stating that they got into an argument outside the church where the service was being held. The two argued over the cost of the funeral, during the service which he says the rapper agreed to pay for.

When it came time to pay the bill, Kirkwood claims that the rapper went back on their agreement and left the family to pay the costs. Meanwhile, Game has stated that he felt his relatives were trying to extort money from him when he felt it wasn't his obligation. "I feel like they were just trying to play me out of [$17,000]," said the rapper during an interview on Arizona's 98.3 FM in July.

Quoting the late Notorious B.I.G, Game stated "Mo money, mo problems. Now, my family is my worst enemy. I hate them more than I hate 50 man," following the family squabble, which allegedly resulted in Game punching Kirkwood.

The rapper is currently on probation for a previous firearms offense, which landed him in jail earlier this year, according to TMZ. If convicted of battery stemming from the recent assault, a judge could have grounds to place him in jail.

Continuing to keep his name in the headlines, Death Row Records founder Suge Knight posted $19,000 bail this past Wednesday night (August 27), following a stay in a Las Vegas jail on felony assault and drug charges.

The imposing mogul, born Marion Knight, was arrested at around 6:40am on Wednesday morning after police found him standing over a woman, hitting her and brandishing a knife, upon their arrival at the scene of a minor traffic accident.

The woman, identified as Melissa Isaac, was not stabbed during the incident but was treated at a nearby hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The long time girlfriend of Knight, Isaac was said to have been naked when police found her, although she has no recollection of how that happened.

According to a statement made to police by Isaac, the two got into an argument on their way to the Spearmint Rhino strip club, after Knight received a call from another woman. After voicing her disgust, Knight allegedly punched Isaac on her head, causing their vehicle to hit the curb.

Police reports claim that when Isaac tried to escape from Knight "he caught up to her and tossed her to the ground ... [and] repeatedly kicked and punched her," which resulted in her blacking out and waking up in the dazed state the officers found her in.

The 43-year-old Hip Hop mogul is expected to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court on September 26 on charges of aggravated assault.
