For the past 5 years The Clipse have positioned themselves as one of the most trendsetting, closely-watched groups in all of hip-hop. From the moment they exploded onto the scene with the #1 club smash Grindin’ off their debut album Lord Willin’ (a #1 Billboard Rap Chart debut in 2002), The Clipse’s ascension into the upper echelons of rap has been unmistakable.
Backed by the production of the mega multi-platinum team The Neptunes, their first two albums have scanned over 1.15 million albums to date, launching them into collaborations with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Nelly, R. Kelly and more.
The Re-Up Gang was created in 2004, during Clipse’s hiatus between their first and second albums (Hell Hath No Fury was released in late 2006). The group includes the Clipse themselves (brothers Pusha T and Malice) as well as long time friend Ab-Liva (of Major Figgas) and fellow Philadelphia native Sandman. Pusha T is credited with founding the group, and was responsible for enlisting the help of DJ Clinton Sparks to put together the first in their mixtape series We Got It 4 Cheap: Vol. 1.
Their new release Re-Up Gang… The Mixtape, will feature 9 brand new songs and 3 unreleased remixes from We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. III. The lead single Fast Life is produced by the multi-platinum producer Scott Storch (Dr Dre, Beyonce, Fat Joe), and is already getting a buzz on the internet.
There is a music video coming for Fast Life, which will be hitting the internet and music TV soon. The album will be executive produced by The Clipse.
