HIP HOP NEWS: Fabolous Pleads Innocence In Murder

This particular holiday season has been a troubling period for Hip Hop star Fabolous. The Brooklyn MC has been embroiled in a police investigation, which has been ongoing since Thanksgiving, regarding his whereabouts on the night of November 23.

On the night in question Shamel McKinney, a childhood friend and associate of Fab, was fatally stabbed outside the Manhattan nightclub Duvet after an altercation with another club attendee.

According to authorities McKinney was targeted by a man named Anthony Taylor, after attempting to rob him for his chain. The fight began in the club and continued out to the street where McKinney was stabbed to death.

Despite the claims of a club promoter, who supposedly spotted Fabolous at Duvet on the night, the rapper born John Jackson denied the charges in a statement released through his lawyer, stating that he was with his family when the incident occured.

Fabolous and his Street Family entourage have been characterised in some reports as an organised robbery ring that uses the rapper's fame to gain trust with celebrities and rob them for their posessions.

According to the New York Daily News Anthony Taylor was arrested for his involvement in McKinney's murder, although no formal charges have been made as of yet.
