Rumors of Busta Rhymes leaving Interscope Records have buzzed around for a few months after certain blogs reported that the rapper was involved in an argument with label chairman, Jimmy Iovine.
While some details may be untrue, it has been stated that Busta has officially cut ties with Interscope for a new deal with Universal Motown Records.
Interscope has yet to confirm reports, but Universal says that the rapper has signed a deal to drop his next project on the label.
Blessed was the title of the New York rapper’s album and it was slated to drop months ago on Interscope. However, it has suffered several delays, and been pushed back with no date in sight, despite filming and releasing videos for We Made It and Don't Touch Me (Throw Da Water On 'Em).
There was no word, at press time, if the project slated to drop on Universal will be Blessed.
