DVD: Preserving Efforts vol 1

To celebrate the release of the groundbreakingly cool new DVD ‘Preserving Efforts vol.1’ which features 14 of the best hip hop video clips around, Jasmatuph Creations and Myspace.com Australia have teamed up to showcase a sneak peak of the DVD in the lead up to its release. Brisbane based hip hop group The Optimen made up of are MCs Sammsonite, Datsun, K-west and DJ Damage are riding very high at the moment after winning big at the 2006 Musicoz awards held earlier this week at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. Not only did they win the ‘Roland Best Urban Artist Award’, but they also took out the inaugural ‘Channel V Best Film Clip Award’ for their video ‘Give It Up’ which features on Preserving Efforts Vol 1.

In the world of hip hop, few artists come close to achieving the profile or career path that has been accomplished to date by US born and bred Guru. Alongside DJ Premier, the two known as Gangstarr released 7 albums. Guru’s debut solo album ‘Street Scriptures Version 7.0” has not only achieved critical and commercial success selling in excess of 100,000 copies independently but has also reinforced Guru’s profile as a solo artist. His lead single from the album ‘Hood Dreamin’ is featured on Preserving Efforts.

From Friday 17th to 20th of November, Myspace.com Australia will showcase ‘Give It Up’ by The Optimen, then from 21st to the 24th of November they will show case ‘Hood Dreamin’ by Guru.
