Single: Lyfe Jennings - Midnight Train

It is rather uncommon to hear an R&B artist with an alternative-sounding track. But Lyfe Jennings has pulled this smooth and relaxing piece of work right off, and made it a masterpiece! As the name Midnight Train suggests, the lyrics do obviously have something to do with a train ride, but the romantic side of it will appeal to the ladies. The instrumentation here – the guitar melodies combined with the soft drumming – all in all is really something nice, which is what makes it such a rare type of R&B track.

Anybody who is so caught up in new heavy mainstream R&B fads and is expecting to hear something to do with a club scene and love still might want to give this track a listen. However, don’t have a bitch over it if you can’t get through a song which avoids the over popularized use of the term “baby.”

With that smooth voice of his, Lyfe Jennings has developed something different and stunning with Midnight Train, which you may find yourself listening to over and over again…not to mention it is quite the track to play on your iPod if you are riding through the city on, well, the midnight train.
