Single: Busta Rhymes - Step Up

I think I hear fire brigade sirens, because this track is ON FIRE! The nice, solid beat was laid down by the late great Jay Dee (R.I.P.) and accompanies a melody which although sounds like an ice cream van at points, still works. The scratches are a very nice touch too.

Busta lays down his flow like only he can, and in a way goes back to his older style of rapping, as his verses and lyrics on this somehow remind me of those on Anarchy or Genesis...this isn't necessarily a good thing, as some seem more or less blander than his efforts on The Big Bang, and had a bit of a lack of compelling punchlines. He still throws a couple of good ones though. Given his lyrics, this could pass more as a club track to me. But the overall product is definitely something that works.
