Crazy Little Thing Called Music

Alot of you may know the Queen classic - Crazy Little Thing Called Love. But in my lifetime, I believe an equally crazy thing is music. Now, I don't mean crazy as in amazing and awe inspiring (although in most cases I would), I mean crazy as in something that drives you insane and makes you do stupid and sometimes dangerous things.
Have you ever tried to sing along to a song you thought you knew so you could impress a would be girlfriend? Ever found yourself falling flat on your ass trying to imitate your favourite Michael Jackson move? Perhaps you once fancied yourself as an acrobat and stupidly tried swinging from a club's lighting fixture. I can't imagine anyone reading this has never either embarassed themselves, done physical damage to themselves or bit off more than they could chew because of music and its manifestations.
So, in this blog I invite all of you to tell me of your experiences, when music made you a little crazy. Either leave a comment or post something in our forum. I will get the ball rolling with an experience I had several years ago. This little incident happened when I was attending a work Christmas function.
I consider myself a bit of a dancer and as usual, when music starts playing, my feet start moving. As you would expect at any Christmas function, there were many alcoholic beverages on hand and red wine has a historically evil influence on me. As a few people began dancing, it became clear that many couldn’t dance as well as me.. happens all the time. One of my co-workers scoffed that she couldn’t dance in high heels, and to this I confidently spat, “Please hand them over to me.”
These heels where not anything to sneeze at and perhaps my depth perception was lacking at the time, but as she whipped these 6-inch monsters off her feet, I soon realized that I may just be featured on Funniest Home Videos anytime soon. As I wrestled with these boots, a crowd soon gathered and all where awaiting my performance. To my relief I did well until overconfidence took a hold of me. And as my two bosses and co-workers looked on.. I attempted a pirouette which resulted in a close encounter with a near by wall
Luckily a friend of mine was close by to break my fall and return what little dignity remained in my numb body. Then when everyone had their giggle, I thought all was over, until I realized that one clever possum had their video camera out and had taped the whole episode. An appearance on Funniest Home Videos was looking on the cards but when it was sent it, apparently it wasn’t good enough.. perhaps it was the angle perhaps it was the framing, but thank god it didn’t make it.
So now every work function I attend, I am constantly asked what item of ladies clothing will I wear this year. To them I always say.. piss off, unless it is my boss when I proceed to say piss off NOW! Ha ha, just joking Bruce.
Music, what a crazy little thing!
