God’s Waiting List

Interviews - Ise Lyfe, Massari, London

Life will bring you down, hope will carry you.

Despite the appalling acting skills of these unknown actors, the theme of this film shines through. God’s Waiting List is a harsh tale of what happens when you stray down the wrong path. It shows how you can harm others, but, more importantly, how much you destroy yourself.

The film revolves around siblings Solomon and Theresa and follows them on their opposing paths. We see Solomon use some rather unsavoury means of opening his own music store. Theresa on the other hand is a sweet kind hearted woman who hopes to run a flower shop. This dream is about to come true when tragedy strikes and she becomes paralysed, unaware that it was all to do with her brother’s contacts.

Theresa develops into a despondent mess, dumps her long time girlfriend, whilst her brother (who can’t portray guilt too well) starts dealing drugs in his shop. Soloman also starts dating his sister’s ex while the pair is constantly high and drunk (this is the only time their acting is convincing). Slowly Theresa gains faith and becomes a more positive, happy person whilst her brother and new found love sink even lower and end up on the street.

Though the film’s theme was in the right place the acting was rather low par as was the directing and production.
