So What The Fuss? Well I'll Tell Ya!

I don’t usually blog about every gig I attend, but on October 19th 2008 I attended a very special gig. One of the 20th century’s greatest and most influential musicians dropped by to spread some joy – Stevie Wonder.

Hollie Smith and other white soul divas

After attending New Zealand soul singer Hollie Smith’s recent Melbourne appearance at Manchester Lane, it just dawned on me that there seems to be an abundance of very potent white soul singers floating around.

My First Radio Program Script

I was just looking through my archive of long lost documents when I stumbled across this little gem. It is the first radio program script I ever wrote.

For those that don't know, I produced an urban music radio show for nine years from 1998 to 2007 at my local radio station 98.9 North West FM and the following script would have been something I left behind several years ago. Cop some of the tracks and the wack dialogue.. absolutely hilarious.

Top 10 Most Sexual Albums of All Time

I have always been a lover and not a fighter so when often when I wrap my ears around some tunes.. they are SEXUAL!!!

Now the term 'sexual' doesn't necessarily mean related to sex. I was inspired once by a close friend of mine to adopt some what of a philosophy which is simply, “Keep it sexual.” This doesn’t mean to go around dry humping fire hydrants and pinching random ladies on the bottom. Being sexual also means being tender, maternal, caring, nurturing and a provider.

Best Gig?

People ask me quite often which act did I enjoy most in concert. This is always followed by a long, “Hmmmm well I am not sure.”

It is hard to narrow it down but I think I can confidently say Method Man and Redman, Alicia Keys, John Legend, The Roots and J5, Amp Fiddler and Digital Underground. This doesn’t include acts I have seen at festivals as I would easily then add Lupe Fiasco in 2006.
