Soleternity

Dreams and ambitions defined Christopher Soleternity McGill from the other 6,240 people he grew up with in Roscoe, IL, when he kissed his mother goodbye and headed for Atlanta four days after graduating high school. Discipline and determination catapulted him from total obscurity to national recognition. He eventually found himself producing, mixing and engineering 8 of the 12 tracks on Bone Crusher’s sophomore LP Release The Beast, launching the 20 year old to instant international recognition through The Source Magazine (“…producer Christopher McGill’s…lead single Southern Gorillaz features a stellar soundbed”). This resulted in production work behind the boards for major recording artists including Angie Stone, 8Ball, Lil' Scrappy, Bun B, Adina Howard, The Outlawz, Young Buck and many more.
Young, ambitious and talented, Sol’s first major placement came at age 18 when business partner Chris V handed one of his remixes to an A&R at Evander Holyfield’s East South Records. The label wasted no time purchasing two beats and the remix, which featured Bun B. Sol soon had Bun B recording to another beat of his after producing the track Walk That Walk, featuring the UGK member, for Bone Crusher. Bone Crusher embraced Sol’s raw, soulful sound and the two would eventually collaborate on over 30 songs. Those songs included the banging anthem Gotta Get It featuring 8Ball, J-Bo of The Youngbloodz, and Angie Stone and the smash single Southern Gorillaz which has collected respectable amounts of Radio Airplay (BDS) and Club Spins to date.
Sol’s path would take a pivotal new direction in May 2005, when Sol met rapper Big Mountain after co-producing 4 Times by Young Noble of The Outlawz featuring Big Mountain. Big Mountain and Sol would team up to create Big Mountain’s Double Mixtape Classic, a double disc mixtape that would create significant buzz and anticipation for both Big Mountain and Soleternity.
Working together with Big Mountain, Sol placed beats on the infamous Tupac & the Outlawz Double Disc mixtape and Adina Howard’s Let You Hit mixtape. Sol would go on to produce songs for Lil Scrappy, Parlae of Dem Franchize Boyz, Khujo & T-Mo of Goodie Mob, Paul Wall, Lloyd, Virgo, Bishop of Crunk and plenty of others.
Following the July ‘06 release of Bone Crusher’s Release The Beast, Sol relocated his office to Los Angeles to establish his companies Soleternity Productions and Streets To The Suites Global Network. Working closely with popular underground West Coast artist Medusa and delving into California’s vast entertainment industry opportunities, Sol began producing and collaborating in depth with Vertigo Records, resulting in powerful records featuring yet again The Outlawz and Young Buck.
From his humble Roscoe beginnings, crafting beats using Casio Keyboards and boom-boxes, to producing, mixing and engineering major label tracks in studios across the world, Sol has built success from scratch. Fellow Producer KaeSwole (MTV’s Blowin Up) commented “Sol brings respect to the profession of being a Hip Hop Producer,” a viewpoint Sol prides himself on every day as he turns on his equipment and begins creating a new beat. “We’re all just one hit away” Sol confidently asserts.
