Nuff Said Presents – Now You Know

Interviews - Ise Lyfe, Massari, London

Nuff Said Records have done amazing things for the Australian hip hop scene. They have been known for unearthing some of Australia's best talent, and the "In Case You Didn't Know" album was used to show off some of the worlds best hip hop music. "Now You Know" is the sequel in the series and it aims to bring a more mature approach by using well known artists.

The title track Now You Know is done by one of my favourite Australian MCs, Lazy Grey. The man is amazing and he absolutely kills this track and it’s the best start to an album I've heard in while. Cloak & Dagger by Lyrical Commission member, Bob Balans, is another hard hitting track that is typical Balans style - no holding back. Spoken Fist is one of my favourites on this album, Solomon Theta has only released a hand full of tracks in his career but all of them have been top quality. This one will be added to the list. Whichcraft by Western Australian group, Clandestein, is the real dark track of the album. It has that real hip hop sound to it and the guys again show that they are some of the countries most talented MCs. The last vocal track on the album is by Melbourne group, Cheapskates. This is more of an amateur track which would have suited the In Case You Didn't Know album but it still brings a different element to the album.

The international guests on this album are just as good as the local ones. Stahhr, Genetics, Memphis Reign, Shawn Lov & Drunken Monk bring the international feel to the album and in traditional Nuff Said style, they are great tracks. Not many people have heard of these MCs, but trust me, one day everyone will. Just listen to U Like It by Stahhr and Need Somebody by Shawn Lov & Drunken Monk and you’ll discover what I'm talking about. The other component on this album is the DJs and instrumental tracks. Local legends the Fingertricks Turntable Artists (FTA) provide a quick scratch track and Brisbane group Briztronix show off their skills on Venom Stingers. Enough already, just go out and get this album because it is the shit.
