After four years of waiting, one of the most sought after RnB/Soul artists, Musiq Soulchild, is back with his fourth album Luvanmusiq. During the last four years, Musiq has been involved in a label trade which saw him move from Def Soul to Atlantic in return for Fabolous who switched to Def Jam. Good news for Musiq fans is that regardless of which label Musiq is on, he is still able to create great music.
Musiq’s silky smooth vocals can be felt on each and every track. This could be his best work to date, a big call to make when you’re talking about Musiq as his previous three were equally as good. Although I feel Luvanmusiq beats them by a whisker due to its variety. It provides up-tempo tracks like, Buddy produced by Jazzy Pha, Makeyouhappy and the Raphael Saddiq produced track Betterman. The slow and seductive cuts come in the form of Greatestlove, Lullaby and Teachme.
My favorite here would have to be the Ne-yo produced track Ms. Philadelphia. Musiq is faultless on this track as is Ne-Yo producing his best. There may be only 12 tracks on the album, but the old saying applies… “quality over quantity.” This is one of those feel good albums you can listen to over and over. Luvanmusiq is an excellent release from an excellent artist.

The album really is that good, Better Man is my favourite track. By the way, I'm marrying him first, so Rob can wait until the swift divorce.
