Eazy E - Featuring Eazy E

Free Music - Lloyd, Robin Thicke, Fergie

No doubt one of the pioneers of the gangsta rap genre, the legacy of Eazy E continues with this collection of collaborations he did with NWA and various other rappers, particularly from the West Coast. Collaborations on here date back to 1987 around the time NWA first started and continue right up until 1994.

The CD is pretty much a hit and miss affair, it's by no means a classic and quite a few of the songs continue the same old predictable shoot-em-up gangsta style with mediocre beats and not very interesting lyrics. That said there are plenty songs that grab your attention, none more so than the MC Ren featuring track Ruthless Villain. For something a little more smooth there's I'd Rather F**k You which has a nice, soulful R&B beat as well as the hustler's anthem Foe Tha Love Of $ featuring Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Dr Dre is in charge of most of the production as well as former NWA member Yella, and you can never go wrong with Dre's beats. DJ Quik also does a few beats including Trust No Bitch and P.S P**k U 2. While there's a few tracks that aren't up to scratch the majority of the album is pretty impressive. Still if you want to find Eazy at his best, you're probably best searching his back catalogue of music he made when he was living.
