Local rap-sing-star/ stalker/ entertainer/ all-round funny lad 360 has regurgitated enough lyrical crack with the mic switched on to bless us with a quality release in the form of What You See Is What You Get. Sixty’s and Pez’ duo Forthwrite have been a staple in the Melbourne live Hip-Hop scene for a minute now, and with a love-to-fuck-around approach to performing and spitting, they’ve definitely carved their own piece of the tiny ass local Hip-Hop pie.
Everything has gone perfectly in the lead-up of Sixty’s debut album, from the successful publicity stunt (shout outs to Lleyton) to winning the Australian leg of Jump Off, Soulmate couldn’t have wished anything more for their second release.
Oh and the music too, dude’s LP is bonkas.
I’ll start with the beat selection, 360 has without a doubt an ear for banana-ass beats! Stand-outs from the usual banger-makers would be M-Phazes’ My Old School and Pataphysics’ Bedroom Jammin’. But hands down the best beats on this album were delivered by relatively unknown Melbournian, Pabstrakt.
Under the twisted humour of Mamma Mia, the crazy snare helps along that jizz-worthy Spanish guitar and So Fake is most def the best beat on the whole album. Keep an eye out on said dude’s work, the only way is up for Pabs. On the note of So Fake, that track is on some Ether steez. Directed at the general wack-shit-hater-haters populace, real heads know who the track is more specifically aiming at.
Sixty poured his heart out on this track, you can hear the emotion in his voice, merking verses with lines like: You don’t think for yourself, you’re just a puppet on strings/ I know you’re insecure, mother fucker just think/ why else would a song like this get under you skin?
That said, the rest of the album is clearly Sixty. His “LOL” humour is laced throughout the whole album, with partner-in-crime Pex making an appearance on some tracks to deliver some Forthwrite charisma that we’ve grown to love. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about, just peep How Good?. Even without his significant other, Mr. 360 manages to hold down the fort on his own quite well.
Growing up in the 90s, I hella related to the aforementioned My Old School, which has 360 reminiscing about Golden Eye on 64, Slim Shady and Banana Man (he was the ish!). Subtle Way Of Suicide is another standout (also another Pabs beat).
Pretty much, What You See Is What You Get is some supercalifragalisticexpialidopeshit. Don’t sleep on Sixty, not only would it be uncomfortable but you’ll be missing out on one of the best MCs Melbourne has to offer.

Great review
I'm planning to cop this album pretty soon. I love the tracks I've heard from it so far.
If you look past the
If you look past the gimmicky first single (Mama Mia) it is a great album, the beats and rhymes for the most part are on point. Def one of the best Oz releases in quite some time.
